The never-ending white sausage story continued on Friday after two years of party lockdown.
The 30th white sausage party at the Stanglwirt in Going as part of the Hahnenkamm races did not ensure collective white sausage eating, but also the return of the completely normal, media and social state of emergency that was until 2020. One person in particular held the reins with virtuosity: White sausage party king Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The organizers had once again taken the best precautions: for the second time since 2020, they wanted to ensure that not all dams would break and that media representatives would be better able to do their work in a state of emergency. Once again, a red carpet was offered in advance, more like a red staircase, in the vicinity of which the media’s thirst for knowledge should be quenched before the area around the coveted white sausage kettle turns into a real witch’s cauldron.
But that was only partially successful. But before the ensuing cauldron madness, the celebrities dutifully walked on that carpet and answered questions there extensively. Nevertheless, this path inevitably led in the direction of cauldrons and sausages, when finally countless mobile phone and television cameras fought for the best places and competed for the best pictures. The resulting flashbulbs didn’t seem to bother the “Styrian Oak” in the slightest.
Properly dressed in a traditional jacket, flanked by girlfriend Heather Milligan and daughter Christina, he put on his well-established wide smile and posed extensively. He was surrounded by Andreas Gabalier, DJ Ötzi and model Barbara Meier at the Kessel. It was in the nature of the Stanglwirt affair that host Balthasar Hauser was not far away.

Before that, there had been fanfares at the highly official opening at 8 p.m. sharp, until Mirjam Weichselbraun, who also acted as the moderator of the evening, addressed the first words to the white sausage enthusiasts. She recalled that the white sausage party, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, began as a small get-together for eight people. In 2023, that was really a long way off: For 2,800 guests, it was all about the sausage. “I’m happy that things are going well again,” said Balthasar Hauser afterwards. After all, the white sausages from the Holnburger company are “the best white sausages in the world”.

Schwarzenegger wasn’t stingy with superlatives either, and he praised the well-tried Stanglwirt: “It’s the best white sausage party in the world,” he said, with the Stanglwirt being “the best hotel with the best food and the best service”. “Balthasar, you are the greatest,” concluded the ex-governor of California.
The celebrity squad, who had previously walked the red carpet, was a mixed bag, with a West German touch. There were, for example: Barbara Meier with her husband Klemens Hallmann, the pop singers Sasha and Oli P, the front men of “The Boss Hoss”, the Let’s Dance jury member Motsi Mabuse, Arnie-Buddy Ralf Moeller, DJ Ötzi or the radio Astrologer Gerda Rogers.
