If that’s not a reason to be happy: In 2022, 50 RED NOSES runs took place in 7 federal states under the motto “Nose up and run”! The crowning glory of the running season was the New Year’s Eve run on December 31st. in Pichelsdorf.
With their starting donations, the participants guaranteed even more clown visits in the future and bring laughter to patients big and small, in nursing homes or in facilities for refugees. But it’s not just there that the runs provide happy moments: off the track, of course, the fun wasn’t neglected either.
Children and adults dressed up in colorful costumes or lacing up their running shoes while playing music, clowns who motivate, cheer or sweeten short breathers along running routes, and running events that put fun first instead of sporting success – all this was not uncommon in Austria in 2022: 7300 participants joined around 50 RED NOSES runs in 7 federal states for more laughter and joie de vivre and have incredible €130,600 for more clown visits walk! The runs were organized and carried out locally by organisers, associations or clubs. And: After a two-year breather, the RED NOSES run in Vienna could finally take place again.

Ready, set, fun!
The colorful running series is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when many dedicated people with perseverance pursue a common goal. However, the winners of the runs were already certain in advance: you will not find them on the running track, but in the hospital, in medical or social facilities and in nursing homes: children, adults and seniors in illness or difficult life situations, the RED NOSES every day strengthen and cheer up with the power of humor.
Whether running, walking, with a tricycle or in a wheelchair: everything is possible and allowed at the RED NOSES running events. Because this is not about sporting results. As different as the runs may have been, they all had one thing in common: every participant made a valuable contribution to supporting other people in difficult situations.
The General Sports Association of Austria (ASVÖ) is a RED NOSES cooperation partner and organizes RED NOSES RUNS on site with its clubs. Another part of the runs is organized by independent communities and (sports) clubs. Of course, during all runs, attention was paid to compliance with all applicable requirements for events as well as distance and hygiene guidelines.
