Actress Susana Dosamantes, mother of Paulina Rubio, suffers from pancreatic cancer

Mexican actress Susana Dosamantes, mother of Paulina Rubio, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the city of Miami, where she has lived for several years, her family reported.

“She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer,” Dosamantes’ children said after a Spanish-language television gossip show in the United States reported that the actress was hospitalized.

“His children, his grandchildren and his family are united and focused on his recovery. We have full confidence in the medical staff of both Mexico and Miami, which has extensive experience and professionalism in this type of cancer,” the brothers added. Rubio Dosamantes, Paulina and Enrique.

Dosamantes, born in the Mexican city of Guadalajara on January 9, 1948, began her artistic career in film.

The actress began to stand out in 1977, with her performance in the second version of the iconic soap opera “Corazón Salvaje”, in which she shared with Angélica María, Juan Martín and Fernando Allende.

Her most recent role was as Tita, Montiel’s widow, in the 2021 production “Si nos dejan.”

However, no role has given her “more happiness” than that of mother and grandmother, the artist told Efe on the red carpet of Premio Lo Nuestro in Miami, where she paraded last February, accompanying her daughter Paulina Rubio, who was recognized for her 30-year career.

Dosamantes’ illness led La Chica Dorada to suspend the presentation on April 20 in Allentown (Pennsylvania) of the “Perrísimas Tour”, which began last weekend with Alejandra Guzmán.
