A representative of the actress told TMZ that she is “brain dead” and that is the definition of death under California law. Previously the “Guardians” already announced the death of the actress. Heche turned 53 years old and had two sons.
Her friend Nancy Davis shared the news in a memorial post on Instagram, writing, “Heaven has a new angel. My loving, kind, funny, lovely and beautiful friend Anne Heche has gone to heaven. I will miss her terribly and all cherish the beautiful memories we shared.”
The doctors had previously given her no chance of survival. It was “not expected that she would survive,” several US media had reported, citing a spokesman for the 53-year-old. According to the fire department, a serious fire broke out in the accident, which could only be extinguished after more than an hour and with the deployment of 59 firefighters. The police said on Thursday that Heche’s blood would also be examined as part of the investigation. According to media reports, narcotics were detected in the actress’ blood. However, further investigations are needed to ensure that these were not administered as part of her treatment in the hospital. The celebrity website “TMZ” reported, citing anonymous police sources, that cocaine and fentanyl were found in Heche’s blood.
