América TV and Canal N announce interruption of their signal at 8:00 pm after the kidnapping of journalists from Cuarto Poder | rounds peasant entertainment RMMN | SHOWS

After journalists from ‘Fourth power‘ were kidnapped by the peasant patrols in Cajamarca, América Televisión and Canal N announced the interruption of their programming to pronounce on this fact.

Today at 8:00 pm we will interrupt our programming to give an important message”, reads the statement released by both television houses.

As is known, the journalist from Cuarto Poder, Eduardo Quispe, and the cameraman Elmer Valdiviezo were kidnapped by residents of the Chadín district when they were conducting investigations into the case of President Pedro Castillo’s sister-in-law, Yenifer Paredes.

Through a statement, América TV reported that the patrolmen took away their camera and cell phones, and forced them to apologize on national television for the report on the First Lady’s sister broadcast on Cuarto Poder last Sunday. “If that didn’t happen, they were warned that their lives were at risk.” they added.

“Given this situation, and to protect the integrity of the kidnapped people, the programming of América TV was interrupted so that the reporter Eduardo Quispe read a statement whose content was dictated by the patrolmen, who, as we said, forced him to read. They would only be released if this requirement was met, which happened moments after the broadcast.”, specified the television house.

América Televisión concluded by noting that “condemns this fact that represents a serious attack on the press and its duty to investigate and report on issues of public interest and that involve the highest authorities in the country”.
