    “I looked at my midwife and said, ‘I don’t feel good. I think I need to lie down,’ and I passed out,” the model said. “What I can remember is feeling a light touch on my cheek which I later found out was actually someone hitting my cheek, someone was holding my hand, my husband Justin was in my ear praying and someone was sticking a needle in my arm. And I remember seeing darkness and what looked like stars.”

    The mother of three explained that afterward everything went blurry and then she discovered she had lost liters of blood and her midwife had to press “her finger right on the bone of my vagina to try to stop the bleeding”. Following the hemorrhage, Ashley spent the following cfour days in bed unable to walk for a week and confined to her apartment for almost two months.

    Fortunately her twins were safe and sound, something she says, along with her husband and eldest son Isaac, kept her going. “It was a time full of joy to be with my husband and three children, the rhythm of our new life, learning and laughing, accepting and recovering.”
