Awkward moment: Depp and Heard need to be kept apart in court

Immediately after Heard finished her statement, everyone was given a break to go to lunch. The actress and her ex-husband almost ran into each other if they hadn’t intervened in time.

While Depp was about to head for the exit door, an agent held him back so that Heard, who was standing in front of the exit, could return to her seat with her legal team. After the 36-year-old had withdrawn from the exit, Depp was finally allowed to leave the hall.

He shrugged his shoulders, accepting the wait – which gave the impression that he thought the fanfare about the distance was exaggerated. A visibly uncomfortable moment for the now feuding couple.

The actress filed for divorce in 2016 after just 15 months of marriage. She accused the Hollywood star of domestic violence. In his civil lawsuit, Depp alleges that his ex-wife made false statements in a 2018 op-ed about domestic violence published by the Washington Post. This would have damaged his reputation. Depp is suing for around 50 million dollars (a good 45 million euros) in damages for defamation.
