“Bares for Rares” dealer Fabian Kahl reveals the biggest bad purchase

On Instagram, the “Bares for Rares” star now reveals his biggest mistake. “For me it was a bronze figure. This was a large figure of a jockey on horseback. And I bought it for 3,000 euros,” begins Kahl.

Then comes the great disillusionment: “Bring it home with you. And the first thing my dad says is boy, that thing is brand new. I then resold it for 500 euros. That hurt.” Apparently he was ripped off.

The most expensive sales atCash for Rares“:

  • 42,000 euros – a golden decorative cross with 40 carats of diamonds and papally sealed wooden splinters from the cross of Jesus Christ
  • 35,000 euros – a classic Borgward convertible from 1961
  • 30,500 euros – a one-off color lithograph by the artist Otto Mueller

Meanwhile, Fabian Kahl sees the experience positively. “You learn a lot with pieces like this and that makes you a better dealer again,” he concludes.
