With “Bares for Rares” the sellers have to part with their beloved rarities. But if you get more than six times as much bid for it from the dealers, it’s suddenly not that difficult anymore. “Bares for Rares” candidate Stefan can also be happy about this.

Pulheim – Stefan would like to sell his mother’s jewelry set at “Bares für Rares” (all news on the topic page). But the seller is taken by surprise by the expertise and the later selling price. He gets paid more than six times his desired price.

Seller wants to get rid of large gold jewelry set at “Bares for Rares”.

The gold jewelry set is a one-of-a-kind item that also amazes presenter Horst Lichter. The set, consisting of necklace, bracelet and brooch, dates from the 40s to 50s and has an amazingly high gold value.

Contestant Stefan admits he has no idea about jewelry and the gold value of this set. That’s why he sets his desired price at 1,000 euros. But that is miles away from the actual value of this piece.

“Bares for Rares” seller is well below expertise with the desired price

Jewelery expert Heide Rezepa-Zabel (56) should now bring some light into the darkness. The gold value alone is over 6,000 euros. Your expert estimate at a proud 7,600 to 8,000 euros. Seller Stefan is visibly surprised and enthusiastic about this.

Sometimes, however, the experts can be pretty wrong with their estimates. That’s what happened to Heide Rezepa-Zabel. She estimates the value of the rarity to be almost twice as high as that offered by the dealers in the “Bares for Rares” dealer room.

Then things get down to business in the “Bares for Rares” dealer room. Wolfgang Pauritsch (50) starts the race with 5,500 euros, but is quickly outbid by his colleagues. While “80-Euro-Waldi” (that’s how the “Bares for Rares” dealer got his nickname) fades away quickly, other dealers are fighting a real duel.

In the end, jewelry expert Elke Velten-Tönnies (69) speaks up and offers 6,400 euros for the gold jewelry set. It is still far below Rezepa-Zabel’s expertise, but since Stefan was only expecting 1,000, he is more than satisfied with his yield.

Fastest sale at “Bares for Rares” – Susanne Steiger buys a rarity in record time

Another sale may go down in the history books of the ZDF junk show. Since no other dealer is interested in the piece of jewellery, Susanne Steiger acquires a crescent-shaped brooch in record time, making the fastest deal at “Bares for Rares”. Sources used: zdf.de, instagram.com/baresfuerrares
