Every detail of the ceremony was chosen by the bride. The location, the buffet menu, the band with the instrumental music and the rose bouquet, everything just as she always dreamed of. The ceremony was like a farewell. At the age of 45, Rosângela Rodrigues da Silva was fighting breast cancer. A battle that lasted more than six years until this Thursday, September 16, when she passed away.
“In January 2015 she discovered breast cancer, which progressed to bone metastases.. Since then, it has been a daily fight for intense and invasive treatment. With the support of her husband, son, family and friends, she faced the fight against cancer. But her biggest dream was to celebrate her wedding, ”said Rosângela’s nephew, Fernando Brito to the g1.globo.com portal, which reproduces her story.
The ‘big day’ was set for July 10, 2021. Rosângela and her husband, Nathanael, went up to the altar in an intimate ceremony, in Campo Grande (Mato Grosso do Sul) . The first date of the party, in March, had to be postponed due to the pandemic, nothing to spoil such a special moment.
Still undergoing treatment for the disease, the bride managed to walk down the aisle, exactly as she wanted, without wearing any device to remember the days he suffered. “When she walked in, there was no one who wasn’t excited. She was beautiful, happy, radiant and very excited. She said: my dream came true, ”said her nephew.
Rosângela proposed to her fiancé Nathaniel, he remembered the days they lived together, the son they had, and even predicted: “I will have four beautiful grandchildren.”
Two weeks later, her condition worsened, until this Thursday, September 16, when Rosângela could not resist the disease.
According to the portal g1.globo.com, the wake and funeral took place this Friday, September 17.
Rosângela leaves behind her husband, a 21-year-old son and nostalgic friendswith whom he worked for more than 20 years.
