Joachim Gauck holds the keynote at the Best Brands Awards

Former Federal President Joachim Gauck (82) joked about his role as an elderly opening speaker in a young environment: “Why do you have to be here as an old geezer when things are so modern and trendy?” Gauck delighted the audience by calling for a “courageous and resolute federal government” during the Ukraine war. “We must clearly stand by those who have been attacked.” An emotional goosebump applause swept through the hall. Ex-national player Bastian Schweinsteiger was particularly looking forward to seeing the former Federal President again: “I last saw Mr. Gauck in the dressing room in Rio in 2014.” At that time, Germany became soccer world champions in Rio de Janeiro after beating Argentina.

The winners of the “Best Brands Awards” 2022 have been announced

Best Brands is the only marketing award to measure the strength of a brand based on two criteria based on a representative empirical study by GfK: actual economic market success and the attractiveness of the brand in the eyes of consumers.

The category “Best Brand Overall” won Sony Playstation. Bosch follows in second place and Samsung in third place.

The price for the “Best Brand Food & Beverages” went to the herbal products of Rügenwalder Mühle. Then come the organic brand Alnatura and the salty snacks from Funny-Frisch.

The third category was dedicated to the tourism industry, which was hit hard by Corona. When “Best Brand Travel” the online travel portal booking.com was awarded. The top 3 are completed by the tour operator TUI and the cruise brand Aida Cruises.

In the fourth category, the “Best Hybrid Brand”, brands were awarded that are best at seamlessly linking the virtual and real worlds in the brand experience. The logistics and transport company DHL was convincing here. The winner is followed by Media Markt in 2nd place and Sony Playstation in 3rd place.
