She is reminiscent of mother Carrie Fisher
Sixth anniversary of Carrie Fisher’s death. In an emotional post, Billie Lourd remembered her late mother.
Six years ago, on December 27, 2016, “Star Wars” star Carrie Fisher died at the age of 60. Billie Lourd (30) spoke on the anniversary of her death via Instagram and remembered her late mother. “It’s been six years since my momby died (feels like two, but also like 705 at the same time…)” the 30-year-old began her emotional post. In addition, Lourd published an old photo on which she was sitting next to her mother, grinning as a little girl.
Billie Lourd tells her kids about Carrie Fisher
Unlike most years since her mother’s death, this year and the past two weeks have been the happiest of her life, Lourd continued. “The birth of my daughter and seeing my son meet her were two of the most magical moments I’ve ever experienced.” But with the “magic of life” comes “the reality of grief”.
Her mother is not here to get to know the two children. “So all I can do is hold the spell tighter, hug my kids a little tighter. Tell them a story about them. Tell them their favorite things. Tell them how much she would have loved them.” Finally, the actress addressed a few words to her followers: “For anyone out there experiencing the reality of grief alongside the magic of life: I see you. You are not alone.”
Carrie Fisher died on December 27, 2016 at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack. Shortly before that, she had made her comeback as Princess Leia in the more recent “Star Wars” films. Fisher’s mother and Lourd’s grandmother, Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016), died the following day at the age of 84 from complications of a stroke.
Billie Lourd and her husband Austen Rydell, 30, welcomed daughter Jackson Joanne in December 2022. The couple already have son Kingston (born 2020). Lourd and Rydell tied the knot in March 2022 and got engaged in June 2020.
