Blackpink, back in August with new songs, announces a world tour

The group announces a tour, “the most ambitious of its career” to meet its fans.

K-Pop band Blackpink are back, two years after their debut album. The formation announced this week the release, in August, of new songs. A still very mysterious project, the title of which has not been revealed.

According to a press releasethese new songs will mark the beginning of “a large-scale project that will take place throughout the second half of the year”.

A project that will be followed by a world tour, the largest ever by a K-Pop girl group, “to get in touch with our fans around the world”, adds the press release.

South Korea’s most popular girl band

The Albumtheir first album, was released in 2020, carried by the hits How You Like That, icecream (with Selena Gomez) and Lovesick Girls.

Blackpink is South Korea’s most popular girl band. The quartet made up of Rosé, Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa multiplies international collaborations (from Dua Lipa to Lady Gaga) and creates the event with each single release.

They have been the subject ofa Netflix documentary, Blackpink: Light Up The Skyreleased in October 2020, and have become figures in the fashion world serving as ambassadors for luxury brands.
