Rapper Bushido and his wife Anna-Maria Ferchichi have been living in Dubai with their children for a few months.
Rapper Bushido (44) and his wife Anna-Maria Ferchichi (41) moved their family and life together to Dubai a few months ago for security reasons. The stay in the metropolis is, as they reveal in their RTL documentary “Bushido & Anna-Maria – everything on the family”, cheaper than life in Germany.
This is despite the fact that the family, with fixed costs of EUR 50,000 per month, spends significantly more in the Emirates than before in Germany: “We need a lot of money, this city is incredibly expensive. […] We have employees, we like to eat out, we like to order food,” says Anna-Maria Ferchichi.
More in the account due to fewer taxes
“We will certainly pay at least 30,000 euros in rent. More than double what we paid in Berlin,” adds the musician. Bushido is nevertheless convinced that he will save in the end. The reason is the taxes.
No income taxes are levied in Dubai. Bushido explains his tax situation: “I pay a seven-digit amount in taxes a year. Taxes only. If I no longer have to pay this amount in Dubai, I will deduct all the additional costs I have there and will probably still have more than if I pay my taxes and live in Germany like this.»
But Anna-Maria Ferchichi also makes her contribution to the family fortune: she is successful as an influencer and reports daily about her life as a mother of eight children. Bushido is proud of it: “The fact that I’m in the fortunate situation that my wife can also contribute a significant financial part is more of a luxury. That doesn’t curtail my manhood.”
The sister of pop star Sarah Connor (41) loves her husband for such statements. “That makes him very manly for me,” says Ferchichi.
Nine million euros are still blocked at the ex-manager
A large part of Bushido’s fortune, which he made at the beginning of his career, is blocked in Germany. At the beginning of his career, the rapper gave the Berlin clan boss Arafat Abou-Chaker (46) general power of attorney over all his possessions, assets and accounts. In 2018, Bushido broke with Chaker, who is said to be the head of a family that is said to commit crimes with mafia-like methods and structures. Bushido and his family were therefore under constant personal protection until he left for Dubai.
In order to get his money, the rapper has to go to court in Germany again and again. In addition, he says: «All of Arafat’s creditors must now agree that the money will be paid to me. Tax office, public prosecutor’s office, Arafat himself. I have to go everywhere now and ask: ‘Do you agree with that?’» It was clear that Abou-Chaker would not agree. “The money has been frozen for at least a year or two for now. That means I’m sitting on nine million euros lying around somewhere, but I can’t do anything with it!” (grb/lob)
