Carlos Vives comes with merengue that he recorded with Johnny Ventura in his new production


The Colombian music star, Carlos Vives, pays tribute to merengue in his new production “Cumbiana 2” which will premiere in a few days.

In an interview on the “Arte y Medio” program, the artist revealed that the song will be premiered at his concert in the country on May 14 at the Palacio de los Deportes as part of his “Después de Todo Vives” tour.

The 15-time Latin Grammy-winning artist offered details of the musical piece “Looking for the horse” recorded with the “Caballo Mayor”, Johnny Ventura.

“It’s a project we’ve been working on and we were surprised by Johnny’s death, but the song is on the new album. It will be a tasty merengue to dance and in the concert it will be performed by Milly Quezada and Jandy Ventura”, said the famous Colombian artist.

Carlos Vives’ new production “Cumbiana 2” also includes collaborations with Camilo, Shakira and other Latin music stars.

On the other hand, the artist revealed his return to the cinema this year with the leading role in the series “El Club de los Graves”. On this occasion, Vives enters the skin of a music teacher, Amaranto Molina.

“It is a Disney youth series made in Colombia, which has been very inspired by my musical experience in relation to valuing musical roots. It’s a very nice story,” he explained.

The film production, which features original songs composed by Vives, narrates the adventures of an eccentric music teacher and a group of students in a traditional high school specializing in music education.
