The second part of “Stars in der Manege” was broadcast on Sat.1 on Friday evening. It was already clear in the first issue that celebrities were reaching their limits here. In Circus Krone, “Let’s Dance” star Massimo Sinató was already injured while spitting fire. Even before his appearance he stated: “That’s dangerous artistry. You want to come home to your son safely.”
But already during the rehearsals he suffered burns on his hand, lip and neck. Natascha Ochsenknecht had a similar experience. With her, however, it was even more explosive, because due to her injuries she could not even compete.
Natascha Ochsenknecht could not perform
Sarah Engels, for example, ventured into lofty heights, Jens Riewa played the clown, Mathias Mester skillfully showed an acrobatic act on the skipping rope and Victoria Swarovski performed a juggling act with plates. The latter was originally supposed to be done by Natascha Ochsenknecht, but she was in the audience instead.
Fans saw footage of her that quickly made it clear why she couldn’t be in the ring herself.
“I didn’t know that a plate weighs half a kilo,” she said on the show. Her arm was blue in the pictures and a circus dog ripped off an earring during rehearsals.
The 58-year-old also spoke extensively about her painful experience on Instagram and explained: “Unfortunately, I had such a blatant injury, I hit my nerve, when I hit it from about two meters high, my plate slammed into it. It wasn’t that fun anymore, so I had to wear my cuff.”
And further: “I wasn’t actually allowed to perform, that would have been impossible. I had tried, but nevertheless I didn’t just turn a few plates, no, of course I had a much bigger task.” However, moderator Jörg Pilawa made it clear that she could make a second attempt on the show this year.
In the end, Victoria Swarovski stood in for the injured Natascha Ochsenknecht. The presenter had to rehearse the number in just one day, but quickly wowed the audience with her performance. But she also complained about injuries and emphasized: “I have endless bruises.”
There are only a few days left until the 16th season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” falls. In 2023, the jungle camp will finally take place in Australia again, after it had to be moved to Germany and South Africa. Twelve celebrities are fighting for the crown again this year.
