The legal conflict between Televisa and Doña Cuquita Abarca, Vicente Fernández’s widow seems to have no end, since the legal efforts of the dynasty have been unsuccessful to prevent the transmission of the series The Last King.

Through a statement, the law firm in charge of defending the Fernández Dynasty, Del Toro Cazo, announced that things are going from strength to strength against Televisa.

So far, according to the defense, they have a cumulative of three suspensions by different amparo judges for the measures imposed by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) against the company to take effect.

The former order immediately stop broadcasting the “illegal bioseries” of the singer, in addition to the fact that the measures cannot be lifted by the institute.

“In addition, it has the effect of ensuring that the copyright and trademark rights of Vicente Fernández are not invaded, avoiding unfair competition due to the illegal bioseries”, they pointed out in the statement.

However, they made special emphasis on the fact that both Televisa and various companies in the same group they have been defying these measures, even though they were duly notified.

The amparo trials have file numbers 450/2022, 502/2022 and 461/2022, from the third, fifth and seventh district court in administrative matters of Mexico City, respectively.

The first specified: “The provisional suspension is granted for the effect of that the IMPI does not carry out the lifting of the provisional measures”.

Lastly, the last provisional suspension reports that “because these are violations of immaterial rights to the detriment of the complainant,” Televisa will not be able to “exhibit counterbail for the lifting of measures that were decreed, that are already consummated and in force.”

For this moment, the programming of The stars has not eliminated the transmission of The Last King from its schedules, because for Tuesday, March 22, 2022 They have it planned at 8:30 p.m.

This came to light after Infobae Mexico revealed that a federal judge granted the provisional suspension to the television station to continue with the transmission of the biographical series.
