Daniela Katzenberger is serious: In the new double episode of her reality documentary “Die Katzenbergers – Familienglück auf Mallorca” (RTLZWEI), she wants to put a long-cherished plan into action: “For six years I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo”, reveals the “cat”. Not just as pure body jewelry, she wants to capture happy moments forever: “I need something that stays forever. A tattoo like that.”

But there are two problems: “I think Lucas thinks that’s shit. He once said he thinks it’s so nice that he has a completely tattoo-free wife,” Daniela knows about her husband’s dislike. And there was something else: “I’m already branded a bit when it comes to tattoos,” says the cat and grins. Unforgotten are her tattooed eyebrows, with which she once appeared on TV for the first time. “I was the idiot with the forehead eyebrows,” laughs Daniela.

But Lucas’ skepticism doesn’t stop Daniela either. “Now that you’re 35, why do you think you want a tattoo?” he wants to know from his wife when she wants to head towards the studio: Daniela, as usual quick-witted: “Midlife crisis. Let yourself be surprised!”

Mama Iris supports Daniela

But Daniela doesn’t dare to do it all alone. Mama Iris has to come along for support. She has tattoos all over her body and also in the place that Daniela chose: at the transition from hand to arm, above the wrist artery. Iris Klein is curious as to what motif Daniela would like.

She thought about it very carefully: “I would like something very small that means a lot to me and where I know the name will never annoy me.” Iris: “Mom? Or Lucas?” Daniela shakes her head: “As if I’m getting Lucas tattooed now! I would never tattoo a guy’s name!” The plan is clear: Daniela will have her daughter Sophia’s name engraved. “This is my child, who stays and she certainly never wants to divorce me.”

But when Daniela sits on the chair in front of the tattoo artist, she gets scared: “Am I going to die of pain now?” ask her. The tattoo artist waves it off. An anesthetic cream is also not necessary since it will only be a small tattoo. Daniela still has to grit her teeth and whispers: “A great pain, I enjoy it!” But after a short time the tattoo is finished – and Daniela is very enthusiastic: “I think it’s cool! Now I’ve overcome my tattoo trauma too.”

Daniela is disappointed by Lucas’ reaction

Back at home, Daniela is already expected by her daughter Sophia and her husband Lucas. Daniela wants to make fun of him and says that she has changed her mind. Lucas is relieved: “You didn’t do it? Oh, better! I still thought to myself: shit, if you can get a tattoo …” But the 54-year-old quickly realized that his wife was fibbing. “I know you: you’re not a pants shit.”

The first thing Daniela does is show her fresh tattoo to the person who is now forever immortalized on her forearm: daughter Sophia. The six-year-old smiles all over her face when she sees the lettering Sophia: “Dad, that’s really nice!” His reaction is far less euphoric. He looks at Daniela’s tattoo skeptically: “It looks like it’s stuck on it. It doesn’t look real at all,” he complains. Daniela is annoyed: “That’s the foil!” In retrospect, the “cat” found her husband’s reaction “rather disappointing”. Lucas probably needs a little more time to get used to it: “That you start again in your old age! But the motif is beautiful.”

In the interview, he slipped a Freudian slip: “She’s a free person and she can do whatever I …, uh, whatever she wants!” he says laughing. But he is not really against it: “Such a small reminder on the heart side already has a symbolism that is super awesome.” That sounds like a happy ending.
