David Beckham entrusted his Instagram account to a Ukrainian doctor to show behind the scenes of the war in Ukraine.
A very nice gesture. This Sunday, David Beckham lent his Instagram account to Iryna, a Ukrainian doctor working in Kharkiv. The opportunity for the doctor to show her 71 million subscribers the working conditions in wartime and the hardships she must overcome. Normally, Iryna is the head of the Kharkiv regional perinatal center. But today, she combines several roles.

And since the beginning of the invasion in Ukraine by Russia, the doctor has been working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. “On the first day of the war, all the pregnant women were evacuated to the basement. Unfortunately, we cannot do the same with babies in intensive care. The material and equipment cannot be moved (…) the first days were the most difficult. We had to learn to work with bombs and strikes,” she explained.
“No one will give up”
For the doctor, giving up is not an option. “We probably risk our lives but we don’t think about it (…) We love our work. The nurses, the doctors and I are worried, and we also cry sometimes, but no one will give up”.
