It is a very sad disappearance that of Gaspard Ulliel, who died on Wednesday January 19, 2022. If he had future projects for this year, the actor appeared less on the screen for a while. Why ?

At the age of 37, Gaspard Ulliel passed away on Wednesday January 19. The actor was the victim of a serious skiing accident in the Rosière area (Savoie), the day before. When help arrived, he was already unconscious and his vital prognosis was then engaged. Hospitalized at the University Hospital of Grenoble, after suffering a major head trauma, the actor twice Caesarized died today. After a minor role in The Pact of the Wolves, he is revealed to the general public after his performance in Michel Blanc’s film Kiss whoever you want, in 2002. If we could see it in many creations, the man had moved away from the screens for a moment.

In 2016, he gave an interview to Madame Figaro and explained in particular his decision tobrake. “I started young, I was naive, I didn’t understand that we don’t always forgive you for certain choices, some errors“, he confided. Gaspard Ulliel then admitted having made films “less well received” and confessed: “I was looking for myself.” The actor noted for his performance in the Yves Saint-Laurent biopic then described himself as “eager for different cinemas“.”I thought it would make me invincible since they couldn’t lock me in a box, he said. “I was looking for myself”

Since then, Gaspard Ulliel had shot other films, but less than before, having slowed down the pace, perhaps making a more careful selection. Chosen by Xavier Dolan, who said to himself “empty” by this sad news, he played in Only the end of the world, which won him the César for best actor, in 2017. We also saw him in the casting of the more experimental La Danseuse by Stéphanie Di Giusto, alongside especially Lily-Rose Depp. Faced with this terrible loss, the world of cinema is in mourning.
