The Princess Diana was one of the characters in the British royal family more charismatic, their presence was always highly valued by the media, which is why every step they took in public was photographed and videotaped, even tense and uncomfortable moments, like the one they experienced 33 years ago because of an obsessive fan.
This was remembered after a post on TikTok that went viral in minutes, where Harry and William’s mother can be seen protected by her security as soon as Ted Adcock, the obsessed fan, jumped the secure perimeter and tried to touch her.
This happened on April 13, 1989, when the princess was visiting Northumberland County, United Kingdom, alone. The man, who was 57 years old at the time, already had a history of harassing well-known female figures of the moment.

The subject also had a similar incident, when he touched the chest of the American athlete Florence Griffith Joyner, one of the best female sprinters in history and a legend of athletics. This fact put him in the public eye for the first time.
Adcock was neutralized by the princess’s security agents, who continued his journey without major incidents, but the fact quickly became known in the British press, as it happened with any event in Diana’s life.
“I like the princess. Let’s put it this way, she could have been trying to give him a hug. She is an attractive woman, but she did not, I did not realize that she would end up like this, ”Adcock told local press.
“I have always been a big fan of the princess, if I caused you distress I am so sorry. I still can’t say why I did it. Although he may seem calm on the outside, there is confusion on the inside, but he would never hurt anyone, ”he added, in an interview for Daily Mail that year.
However, Ted Adcock’s record was broader, as he was sentenced to 2 years of probation for sexually assaulting a saleswoman, and in 1990 he had a similar episode again, after trying to grab Veronique Marot, an athlete who was preparing to a marathon.
