New job for Dieter Bohlen – but there is nothing to be seen on RTL
Dieter Bohlen has disappeared from the scene since he left the RTL shows “Das Supertalent” and “DSDS” – at least on TV. Instead, he is now increasingly devoting himself to his social media channels. However, preferably to advertise. Although the pop titan has repeatedly announced that he will return soon with new projects, he has not been more specific so far.
The fans still want to see Bohlen in a new TV format, but most broadcasters are probably less open to this idea. ProSieben, Sat.1 and the public broadcasters told watson months ago that they are not currently planning with planks. The former modern-talking star has now landed a new job.

The 67-year-old becomes a Freenet advertising ambassador – and so also returns to television. The music producer should make the umbrella brand and its individual product brands better known, according to a press release from the telecommunications provider. Somewhat strange: Bohlen even gets its own title for this job. He is now the company’s chief entertainment officer.

“Dieter fits in perfectly with the Freenet brand. He is just as direct and free in addressing as we are in the Freenet Group“, announces CEO Christoph Vilanek. What are Bohlen’s future tasks? The company’s press release states: Bohlen will “slip into different roles and thus embody the various stories about the brands and offers”.

Bohlen himself says in the official announcement about his commitment:
“Very few people know that I actually have a degree in business administration. And as such, the stage of a listed company like the Freenet Group is extremely exciting for me. The business model is unique in Germany, but also not as widely known. That’s how the best composed number on the planet – if nobody knows it, it will be a flop too. I am happy that we are now optimizing it together and that I am now part of the Freenet management. “
New spots cannot be seen on RTL
From mid-September to just before Christmas, the campaign with Bohlen is to be seen on numerous TV channels – including ProSieben and Sat.1. On the other hand, the campaign will not be shown on the channels of Mediengruppe RTL – Bohlen’s longstanding employer, as a Freenet spokeswoman told watson. However, this has less to do with planks, as she emphasizes: “The last campaigns in the past few years were no longer running on the RTL Mediengruppe channels. The distribution of the advertising budget was therefore not postponed when we started working with Dieter Bohlen.”
Various online and social media advertising is also already planned – and that currently fits particularly well into the image of Dieter Bohlen, who is omnipresent on Instagram.
