Donovan Carrillo first Mexican to be nominated to the ISU

the skater Donovan Carrillo has been nominated to the ISU, International Ice Skating Union, as the best of figure skating, becoming the first Mexican to reach these awards. The news was released by himself on his social networks.

This nomination represents the great effort provided by the young athlete during his time in the beijing 2022 winter olympicswhere he managed to stand out for his routines which were accompanied by songs by Daniel Boavista and Carlos Rivera, as well as a participation with the hit “María”, by Ricky Martin.

The figure skatergot his nomination after the ISU conducted a poll and took the vote by 72.8 percent, beating out the Japanese yuzuru hanyuwhich only got 20.5 percent.

This international event which recognizes the best of figure skating, It will be taking place on February 5th.and they will be broadcast live through the digital platform YouTube, the day on which it will be known if the Mexican obtained the majority of votes.

At the moment, Donovan Carrillo is recovering from surgery on his right foot that he underwent and hopes to be fully prepared for play the world championship which will be taking place from March 20 to 26 in Japan.
