“Drinnies” and “Cui Bono” win the German Podcast Award

Podcasts about the life of introverts and a radio presenter-turned-conspiracy theorist were convincing at what is now the third award ceremony.

The decisions were announced in Berlin on Thursday evening.

In “Drinnies” Giulia Becker and Chris Sommer talk about the lives of introverts. They won in the categories of best talk team and best independent podcast. “Cui Bono” was honored as the best journalistic achievement and best production. It is about a former radio presenter and his conspiracy theories.

The brothers Bill and Tom Kaulitz (“Tokio Hotel”) were successful with their podcast “Kaulitz Hills – Senf aus Hollywood”, but did not personally accept the award as the best newcomer. In it, the twins talk about their lives. “Wild Wild Web – The Kim Dotcom Story” won in the Best Script category. The podcast “11 Leben – Die Welt von Uli Hoeness” was awarded for the best interview.

In addition to the jury prizes, audience prizes were also awarded. The winners were “Wall Street” (news & politics), “Hobbylos” (comedy), “The Kids.Doc – more health for your child” (knowledge) and “Samira & Serkan in Paradise – the aftermath” (lifestyle). The German Podcast Prize is supported by several players from the audio industry and was awarded for the third time.
