DSDS anniversary – casting day four: Metal-Max, Katzenjammer and Bad Bitches

DSDS anniversary – casting day four
Metal-Max, Katzenjammer and Bad Bitches

The fourth day of casting attracts extremes: a motorbike fan from Baden-Württemberg wants to help the format to become “harder”. When it comes to failure, a Bonnie Tyler fangirl sets the bar high. And a reality TV star sisters with Katja Krasavice.

In Cologne, Hamburg and Munich, the heavy artillery is slowly but surely being rolled out. If you want to get to the top, you have to stand out and step out of line, thinks trampoline nerd and “passionate screwdriver” Max from Brackenheim. The 20-year-old with a penchant for the really hard tones would like to have a similarly successful career as his great role model Till Lindemann.

“DSDS needs more hardness!” Sounds the Baden-Württemberger. Chief juror Dieter Bohlen sees it a little differently. After a rather below-average Rammstein performance, the pop titan puts his hands in front of his face: “It sounds like a little boy singing his night song,” according to the format boss.

Bundle of energy Anna Karina also has big plans for her DSDS debut. With a teddy bear, summer hat and lots of good humor in her luggage, the 27-year-old from Wolfenbüttel hangs on to the musical rock tips of pop-rock smoker Bonnie Tyler. But here, too, the self-perception does not match that of the jurors. Too much drama, too much pathos and a pinch too much hangover ensure that Anna’s big dreams are far away: “That was light years away from Bonnie Tyler,” says Dieter Bohlen.

On casting day number four, only the two Ainhoha and Christian, who had traveled all the way from Switzerland, fell lower. While the former stumbles with a provocative showgirl wardrobe and squealing Jennifer Lopez insults (“Get Right”), Christian, who has Portuguese roots, fails at the famous Tontreff hurdle. “I sang in Portugal in front of 10,000 people!” the candidate said in advance. But Dieter Bohlen has other images in mind: “When you sing, it reminds me of a bullfighter running away,” said Bohlen.

“That was really great!”

At the great festival of failure, however, there are also candidates who row against it with passion and conviction. The 30-year-old Hannah from Cologne, for example, impresses eye and ear witnesses with an emotional mixture of street pop and lyrically fine-tuned singer-songwriter art. You don’t even need the playback of a big business to create a good atmosphere behind the jury’s desk. Two verses of a self-composed song are sufficient. Seconds later, the lively Rhinelander holds the coveted “Recall” note in her hands. Soul and gospel fan Alyssa from Hanover will cause even more amazement in the group. The 21-year-old natural talent with the voluminous voice even takes chief critic Dieter Bohlen on a highly emotional and stirring journey. “That was really great!”, the tall blonde with the distinctive grin rejoices. The foster son Pietro Lombardi is also very enthusiastic: “Welcome to DSDS!” The ex-format champ is happy.

After a lot of joy and sorrow, a not entirely unknown TV lady ignites a very special performance firework at the end. Reality starlet and self-proclaimed party mouse Jill also wants to make it one step further. The influencer from Römerstein in Baden-Württemberg should be known to trash TV fans from formats such as “Ex on the Beach” and “Are You The One”. For a dating TV allergy sufferer like Dieter Bohlen (“I don’t look at this junk”), Jill is a blank slate.

Bad bitches stick together

After a brief, at times somewhat slippery initial interview, Jill is allowed to step up to the microphone and perform her version of Leony’s “Remedy”. While Leony and Dieter point all available thumbs down (“You’ll never win this thing here!”), Pietro and Katja give the polarizing influencer a chance to prove themselves again. Above all, party bee Katja is impressed by the appearance of the 22-year-old, who stands out from the crowd: “Bad Bitches support Bad Bitches!” The rapper clarifies. Even a Dieter Bohlen has nothing to counter that.
