Dutch royals: Queen Maxima steers an excavator in high heels

Queen Maxima (51) clearly enjoys operating the excavator. The Queen of the Netherlands sits in a trouser suit and high heels in a Volvo excavator, shoveling dirt. Her husband King Willem-Alexander (55) is also beaming when he is allowed to drive an excavator.

The two were accompanied on the visit to the Volvo works in Gothenburg by the Swedish King Carl Gustaf (76), who sat behind the wheel of a truck, and Queen Silvia (78). The Dutch royal family’s friendly and cheerful family outing was part of their three-day state visit to Sweden. Queen Maxima and Willem-Alexander looked delighted on the last day of their trip, the Queen in a berry-colored trouser suit (supposedly Zara) and Willem-Alexander in a suit.

The state visit also took the two to Stockholm, where they were invited to a state banquet – while driving the excavator in the more bourgeois trouser suit from Zara, Queen Maxima showed her most royal side at the state banquet in Stockholm: in an extravagant pink dress and with a sparkling crown .
In addition to host Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Princess Cristina (79), Crown Princess Victoria (45) and Prince Daniel (49) as well as Princess Sofia (37) and Prince Carl Philip (43) came to the state banquet in the Royal Court of Stockholm. Well then Cheers: Skål!
