“Der ZDF-Fernsehgarten” is one of the most popular German TV shows. The colorful mix of music and service has been around for over 30 years.

show description

The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) has stood for international understanding and harmonious coexistence since 1956. With regard to the Ukraine war, ESC 2022 in Turin will have a very special meaning.

But not only in Italy, the home of last year’s winner Maneskin, music fans should be able to enjoy the event. In 2022 there should be an offshoot of the ESC in the USA for the first time.

ESC 2022 – Eurovision Song Contes” should also take place in the USA

The show started on Monday (March 21). Unlike the European original, there will be eight episodes, the grand finale will take place on May 9th.

The American Song Contest (ASC) will be moderated by superstars Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson. The latter said in an interview with The Wrap magazine: “People just need a little cheering up because the world is so gloomy at the moment”.

ASC – this is how the ESC works in the USA

Snoop Dogg was still on stage for the Superbowl 2022 in February. He shot a music video with Heidi Klum for their song “Chai Tea with Heidi”. Now the rapper and his colleague welcome 56 acts from the USA to the TV station “NBC”.

The ESC idea from Europe should also be in the foreground in the USA. Uniting the country with music, that’s what it’s all about. And that’s why not only the 50 states, but also the District of Columbia with the capital Washington and the five territories American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands take part in the competition.

American Song Contest – American ESC should also run on German TV

A look at the list of participants reveals that some celebrities are also expected. One of them is singer Michael Bolton, who is representing Connecticut. And Macy Gray, who should bring back some memories with her song “I try”, is also there.
