Although no trailer has been unveiled for the moment, plot elements of the next season are already delighting fans of Netflix’s flagship series.
Spoiler alert. Since Netflix’s announcement for a season 3 of the hit series Emily in Paris , last January, fans go there with their predictions. Fortunately for them, new elements have just been unveiled, enough to make them wait until the return of their favorite American on the small screens.
One of the characteristics of Lily Collins, aka Emily Cooper? Her original and extravagant outfits. The series’ costume designer, Marylin Fitoussi, revealed to ELLE.com her new wardrobe ideas: “My dream for season 3 would be to recycle costumes from season 1. I don’t know if we can do that, but I’d like to bring some of Lily’s most iconic outfits to the recycling workshop and see what they can do, cut and make”.
Go or stay?
As for the question that burns the lips of all viewers: will Emily stay in Paris? Unfortunately, Lily Collins herself has no idea: “I’m dying to know what decision she’s going to make, because I don’t know”. The creator of the series, Darren Star, did not want to say anything to him: “Really, I am as vague as Emily”. What if the cliffhanger scene (end an episode with an open scene, NDRL) troubled more than one, it was also not easy for the actress. When given her text, she replied: “Okay, but what is the decision?”
“I have a very specific idea of what Emily is going to choose and I think there is no right choice,” said the creator of Sex and the City to the magazine SHE. Before adding: “There is not a choice that will settle everything and please everyone. And I think Emily is also… a bit of a people pleaser and her decision will make some people unhappy. But she will have to face it next season.
The heart has its reasons that reason ignores
At the end of season 2, Emily confronts her feelings for Gabriel, her friend Camille’s former boyfriend (Camille Razat), after an affair with the Englishman Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), whom he met in his French class. In an interview with TVLine, Darren Star confides on the romantic relationships of his heroine: “It’s a question that she will have to face, how can she manage her relationship problems with her work problems, which, at the end of season two , are not settled”. Although no answer has clearly been given, a new love triangle could emerge: “I love Alfie, personally. I won’t dismiss it and I don’t think Emily should either. London is not far from Paris.

An expected release date?
While Netflix has announced the production of a season 3 and 4, for the moment no release date is planned. The platform has however confirmed that production will begin during the summer of 2022 and more precisely in June, as announced by William Abadie, who plays the role of Antoine Lambert, the lover of Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) at the weeklye US Weekly. He also communicated: “I also anticipate that with Alfie and London arriving, we will perhaps spend some time there. But nothing has been made official… so don’t take my word for it.”
