Netflix’s most famous Korean series is back for a second season. On Sunday June 12, the streaming platform announced that a sequel should be released soon.
Having become a global phenomenon in 2021, the series Squid Game will officially get a sequel. On Sunday June 12, Netflix released a video of a few seconds on which fans of the show can recognize the eye of the disturbing doll from the game “1,2,3 Soleil”. A circle, a triangle and a square, symbols of the series, are displayed while the number two lights up in the pupil of the robot.
In legend, the streaming platform writes: “Red light… GREEN LIGHT! Squid Game is officially back for a season 2! If for the moment no broadcast date has yet been announced, the Netflix France Twitter account has revealed that the sequel to the series will be broadcast “soon”.

“A whole new game is about to begin”
Less than a year after the release of the first season, Netflix is giving us very few clues as to what’s in store for us next. On Twitter, the platform posted a message written by the director and screenwriter of the show, Hwang Dong-hyuk. “A whole new game is about to start,” he announces. “It took 12 years for the first season of Squid Game come to life last year. But it only took 12 days for Squid Game become the most popular Netflix series of all time. He then thanks his fans for their support: “thank you for watching and liking our series”.

In his message, Hwang Dong-hyuk announced the return of Seong Gi-hun, the hero of the series played by Lee Jung-jae, as well as the game master. “The man in the suit who plays ddakji could return.
