Soccer player Lukas Podolski and his wife Monika became parents for the third time on Friday. After the 14-year-old son Louis and the six-year-old Maya, they had another daughter. Her name is Ella and according to “Bild” she was born in Poland, the home country of the 37-year-old and his wife – as the only one of the couple’s three children.
On Instagram Podolski shows a picture of himself with his daughter in his arms. He looks down at her, she seems to be looking him straight in the eyes. He writes: “Already dad’s girl. Welcome, Podolski number 5.” With a hashtag he expresses that he is a proud father.
“The best feeling ever”
Podolski says to “Bild”: “It’s always something very, very special and the best feeling ever! We are so happy that there are five of us now. Everyone who knows me knows that my children and family have something very special special to me. She got me to where I am today.” The fact that Ella was born in Poland is something special for the couple, says Podolski, “I didn’t decide to end my career here for nothing.” He has been playing for Polish club Górnik Zabrze since 2021.
Lukas and Monika Podolski have known each other since they were young and have been a couple since 2004. In 2011 they married. Son Louis was born in 2008, daughter Maya in 2016. Podolski keeps his children and wife out of the public eye as much as possible.
