After his separation from Miyabi Kawai (48), Manuel Cortez (42) has been official since the beginning of 2021
with the entrepreneur Saina Bayatpour (42) in a relationship. The two have even moved into an apartment together. The “In Love with Berlin” star left Berlin for his sweetheart and quickly moved to Munich. But although he feels very comfortable in the Bavarian capital, the time after the move was apparently not always easy and put the relationship between the two to the test, as Manuel revealed in an interview with BUNTE.de at the New Faces Award.
Manuel Cortez: “We also overcame many hurdles together”
Manuel not only left his beloved Berlin in 2021 after 25 years, but also had to deal with health problems after a corona infection. “It was really a difficult time, just for both of us. Healthwise, economically, in any form,” explained the 42-year-old. “It was a really tough two years.” However, the love of the two did not break because of these challenges. But on the contrary! “We got along really well with Corona the whole time. You are there for each other a lot and we have also overcome many hurdles together,” explained Manuel. He is even certain that the relationship between the two has become even stronger as a result: “It’s nice to meet someone in such a phase where you have a test like that. Once we’ve survived that, we’ll get all the rest too there.”
The move is good for his health
The move to Munich not only strengthened Manuel and Saina’s relationship, it was also good for the TV star’s health: “Especially during the recovery phase from Corona last year, I really needed Munich. Through Long Covid I came with the speed of the city and this energy here [Berlin, Anm. d. Red.] not clear. I needed rest.” Although Manuel is now much fitter than he was a few months ago, he is now
partly still struggling: “I’m at 80 percent and I’m pretty happy with that. There are days when I still notice it. Through extreme exhaustion, through circulatory problems, through slight paralysis of the hands, through sudden tremors, so very slight neurological ones Things. But less often, much, much less than before.”
