Titina Romay was one of the child stars who saw their greatest success during the so-called Golden era of Mexican cinema, but she was not completely happy because she was a well-known young woman in the artistic world, on the contrary, she felt that his early years were stolen from him and could not fully enjoy his childhood.

From the age of two, María Cristina Rodríguez, better known as Titina Romay, devoted herself to acting, since almost her entire family was part of this artistic world.

Titina was the daughter of joselito rodriguezwho was the brother of Ishmael Rodriguez, so on many occasions he was part of the cast of his family’s films. Among some of the tapes in which she participated as a child are Little Black Angels, the little enemy, Souls Trujano, among many others.

Her success was great thanks to her talent and the encouragement she received from the Rodríguez brothers, but she did not have the childhood that most children enjoy, since for much of her first years of life she was forced to be extremely careful with every activity I had for don’t ruin their characters.

As he confessed in an interview with Paco Macías, her family always demanded a lot from her as an actress and as a girl, but not so that she would enjoy the playful side typical of that age, but rather so that she would interpret it in the cinema.

Although at the time he was not aware that he did not enjoy his childhood, Since her life was like this from a very young age, after she moved away from the spotlight, she realized the small emotions that she could not enjoy for being a star of the golden age.

Most of the time, Titina had to follow the instructions her family gave her to do almost everything. She lived inside the recording sets, behind the cameras and lights.

In addition to the fact that he had to take care of the way he played so as not to hurt himself, they prohibited him from doing certain activities and restricted his diet so that he did not gain weight.

From the child in the cinema you take away all the freedom as a child. I couldn’t play because if I broke my arm or scratched it or whatever. ‘No, Titina, you can’t go play’, ‘Rollerblading? No, Titina, you can’t skate’, ‘Are you eating something? No, Titina, you’re chubby’”, recalled the actress.

Added to this, suffered from bullying at school since on several occasions he came to losing year school for being on the set of a film. By the time she returned to class, her fame did not protect her from the teasing that her classmates did to her for being behind in her education and that led her to isolate of those of his age.

Despite all these measures that her family took and the bullying, the actress confessed that if he could be reborn, he would again dedicate himself to acting since she was little, because it was thanks to this that she triumphed on the big screen throughout her childhood and until the first years of her adulthood.

For her, the applause among which she grew up and the recognition that she still has in the cinema were always satisfactory, so she does not feel bothered by the restrictions within which she lived.

After moving away from the cinema, Titina dedicated herself to different activities, as she did not want to be pigeonholed only as an actress. She gave dance lessons in different schools, for a while he studied and devoted himself to real estate industry and, in recent years, has focused on the music.
