It’s probably the most emotional moment of the whole evening when Troy Kotsur won the Best Supporting Actor category for the film “Coda” this year Oscar gets awarded. The reason: The actor is the second deaf award winner the history of the Academy Awards.
Finally, the golden boy was attached to a deaf actress Awarded in 1987 when Marlee Matlin secured the most coveted award in film history. A few years have passed since then and as the oscars this year for the 94th time was awarded, viewers, stars and starlets already guessed at the announcement by actress Yoon Yeo-jeong that now a very special moment fwould follow.
The 74-year-old announced Troy Kotsur prizewinner – and instead of thunderous applause, the participants showed their joy and admiration by waving their hands in sign language for applause stands.
