Selena Quintanilla was enjoying great international fame when on March 31, 1995, she found death at the hands of her friend Yolanda Saldívar, without a doubt the least expected person.
The incident occurred at the Days Inn hotel, located in Corpus Christi, where the star went to speak with Yolanda, who at that time was the president of her fan club and one of her assistants. Unexpectedly, the woman took out a weapon that she had hidden and shot him in the back.
Quintanilla was rushed to the hospital but despite doctors’ attempts to save her, she died in the ambulance. Her death put an end to a career that was on the rise thanks to songs such as: Amor Prohibido, Como la Flor and Dreaming of You, which are hits to this day.
At the age of 20, she secretly married the musician in her band Chris Pérez. At first, the singer’s father did not agree with the relationship, but over time everyone learned of the young man’s good intentions and adopted him as part of the family.
Currently the guitarist works as a music producer, songwriter and entrepreneur, according to what he himself says on his social networks.
Despite the fact that, according to what she knows, one of her biggest dreams was to become a mother, she did not achieve it.
The most intimate environment of the young woman continued to manage her businesses and receive the collection of her songs, which are still being broadcast today. They also created the Selena Foundation, through which they help children without economic resources, so that they can finish their studies.
