Hannah Gutierrez Reed (24) is the woman who was in charge of the weapons on the set of “Rust”. Minutes after the fatal shot at camerawoman Halyna Hutchins († 42), Gutierrez speaks to the police. This is shown by published recordings of the officials’ body cameras.
In the footage, Gutierrez Reed is seen. She explains that she was the weapons manager on set. She adds: “Or at least I was.”
“Worst day of my life”
Then she tells another police officer: “Welcome to the worst day of my life.” According to “TMZ”, a police officer then accompanied her to the toilet. Gutierrez Reed murmurs, “I can’t believe Alec Baldwin had the gun in his hand. That’s so crazy.”
Later, the camera also records how she says: “I just want to get out of here and never let myself be seen in this industry again.” And further: “I’m the only weapon master in the industry and I’ve just messed up my entire career.”
Also released videos of Baldwin after being shot
In addition to these recordings, the sheriff of Santa Fe County, where the accident happened, also released videos of Alec Baldwin (64) worrying about Halyna Hutchins. Hutchins died from a gunshot wound sustained after Baldwin fired a bullet at her from what he believed to be a prop gun.
The investigation into the case is ongoing. So far, Baldwin and Gutierrez Reed have been named as defendants in the lawsuit surrounding Halyna Hutchin’s death. (eu)
