Inadequate behaviour? Bill Murray is on leave of absence from filming

What happened on the set of ‘Being Mortal’ with Hollywood superstar Bill Murray? According to consistent media reports, the leading actor was suspended for “inappropriate behavior”.

Filming is said to have been temporarily interrupted by the production company Searchlight Pictures. An e-mail to the employees allegedly states that an official complaint was made at the end of last week that they were made aware of something that is now being investigated. However, those responsible will not be more specific.

More information has not yet leaked out to the public. According to a report by People magazine those responsible do not want to announce any further details for the time being.

Director, actor and comedian Aziz Ansari’s Being Mortal began filming in March. According to insiders, half of the film, which deals with the topic of end-of-life care, is already in the can.

Complaints from fellow actresses

In the summer of 2021, actress Lucy Liu publicized a dispute with her colleague Murray. Together they stood in front of the camera for the movie “Charlie’s Angels” in 2000. Liu reported that Murray allegedly insulted her. The reason: You and other colleagues revised a scene during a rehearsal when Murray was not there.

At the time, Liu said on the Los Angeles Times podcast “Asian Enough”: “Some of his expressions were inexcusable and unacceptable and I didn’t want to just sit there and accept it.” She immediately put up a fight back then and doesn’t regret it. Colleague Drew Barrymore also confirmed the incident on set. “Comedians can be a little dark sometimes and he just came in in a bad mood,” Barrymore said at the time.
