During her cross-battles against Illa, broadcast this Saturday April 23 in The Voice, Léna Maire caused a sensation. The young woman took over a song by Charles Aznavour and won over the public who decided to qualify her for the next stage.
A performance that will be remembered! For this first part of the cross-Battles of The Voicethe coaches competed through their talents, and Vianney and Amel Bent decided tooppose Illa to Léna Maire. The story of the two singers is all the more surprising as the two have already been face to face during the Battles. The one to whom we owe the tube Father in law had decided to separate from Léna, who had been fished out by Amel Bent. For this duel that looked like deja vu, it’s Léna Maire who caused a sensation resuming die from love by Charles Aznavour and which was saved by the public.
Gala.fr: Léna, how did you approach these cross-battles?
Lena Mayor : With a lot of stress because I almost left for the Battles, so I had to surpass myself for these cross-battles.
Gala.fr: You found yourself facing Illa, who you had already faced during the Battles. What state of mind were you in?
Lena Mayor : Stressful, I don’t know, but unexpected yes. I didn’t expect it, especially since before going on set, we encouraged each other and we said to each other that we were going to get through this stage together because we couldn’t find ourselves face to face again. I would have preferred to be against someone else.
Gala.fr: Can you come back to the genesis of your participation in The Voice ?
Lena Mayor : It was a production coordinator who contacted me, and I accepted. And that’s how I got in The Voice.
Gala.fr: And would you have participated in the program even if you had not been contacted?
Lena Mayor : I think so, because I had already asked myself the question but I might have waited a bit.
Gala.fr: Before being in the team of Amel Bent, you were in that of Vianney. Are there any differences between the two coaches?
Lena Mayor : He obviously has a different approach, but the two coaches were very formative and on top with me. For example, on the cross-battles, Amel Bent brought me a lot on the interpretation, because I sang a song in French, by Charles Aznavour.
Gala.fr: Why did you resume die from love by Charles Aznavour?
Lena Mayor : For message. The title defends the right to love, and I think it’s important to spread this message in the times that run.
Gala.fr: And 79% of the public wanted to see you at the next stage, the super cross-battles.
Lena Mayor : Yes, that was very unexpected too!
Gala.fr: Do you continue your studies in parallel with The Voice ?
Lena Mayor : I am in Terminal. I pass my baccalaureate at the end of the year, and I am also a student at the conservatory. It’s a lot of pressure for me this year.
Gala.fr: If you win the show or are offered a contract, will you put your studies on hold?
Lena Mayor : I want to study music, so if it’s feasible, I’ll combine the two.
