Ukraine wins the 66th Eurovision Song Contest. As expected, the folklore rap formation Kalush Orchestra triumphed against 24 competitors at the musical mega show in Turin on Saturday evening and brought victory to the country currently under Russian attack for the third time. “Please help Ukraine, Mariupol, help Azov-Stahl now,” singer Oleh Psiuk asked the audience at the end of the song “Stefania”.

suspicion of manipulation

During the final, however, the organizer announced that there was a suspicion of manipulation in the second semi-final on Thursday. As the European Broadcasting Union EBU announced, irregularities in the jury vote were found in six countries. Which states are involved has not been published. In the countries concerned, the points from other countries that voted similarly were averaged.

“The EBU takes any alleged attempts to rig voting at the Eurovision Song Contest extremely seriously,” the statement said. In the second semi-final, the countries Finland, Poland, Belgium, Sweden, Estonia, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Australia qualified for the final. Austria was eliminated in the first semi-final on Tuesday.
