“If you felt that I was disrespecting your culture, that was not my intention,” Jason Momoa posted a video on Instagram on Saturday, in which he apologizes for taking pictures in the Sistine Chapel.
The hero ofAquaman treated himself to a little trip to the Vatican, during a break from the filming of FastXthe last part of the saga fast-furiouswhich takes place partly in Italy.
“Generous donation”
“I came here when I was 19-20 to experience the Sistine Chapel. I’ve always wanted to do it and now that I can, I’ve made a generous donation so I can bring my friends and team, because we only had a few days off to discover this place,” he explains. “Sorry if I offended you.”
Jason Momoa did not expect, by posting his Vatican tourist photos on Instagram last week, to arouse the anger of his fans. The actor poses there with friends, but also with guardians of the place, visibly delighted.
However, his photos and videos in an empty chapel of tourists have earned him a shower of criticism. The comments above all recall the ban on ordinary visitors filming within the walls of the famous chapel.
If some fans accuse Jason Momoa of “lack of respect”, most point above all to the preferential treatment reserved for the actor, who was able to visit the premises without the crowd.
