A great name in French cinema has passed away. Thursday, actor and director Jacques Perrin died.
The family of French cinema is again in mourning… Thursday, April 21, Jacques Perrin died at the age of 80. On behalf of his family, the son of the actor and director, Mathieu Simonet, confirmed this sad news to AFP, stating that he had died “peacefully” in Paris. The actor who notably played in “Les Demoiselles de Rochefort” and “Peau d’âne” leaves behind him a rich career, during which he played in more than 70 films.
As soon as his death was announced, many personalities paid tribute to him on social networks: “Farewell my Maxence, my masculine ideal in all simplicity, my romantic prince …! Tonight I will sing for you”, commented Clara Luciani Thursday evening, in Story Instagram. Marina Foïs also reacted to this disappearance on her account, as did Jean Dujardin, Vanessa Demouy, Sandrine Kiberlain…
“Rest in peace Jack. I will only remember wonderful memories by your side (…)”, also confided Jean-Baptiste Maunier, who had given him the reply in the film “Les Choristes” in 2004. “Cinema is losing someone extraordinary ! I will never forget you. Thank you for everything you have done for me.”

For his part on Twitter, actor Xavier Beauvois testified: “I admired Jacques Perrin, and then I had the chance to shoot him, his talent, his availability, his kindness meant that after the shooting I admired him even more. I am immensely sad.”
