Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler return to service in Paris

After the huge success of the first part, freely inspired by Agatha Christie’s novel Death on the Nile and hoisted in first place of the charts netflix of the year 2019, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston resume service in Murder Mystery 2this time inspired by Murder on the Orient Express, whose trailer has just been released.

This sequel picks up four years later with the same protagonists, former NYPD officer Nick and ex-hairdresser Audrey, now private detectives, struggling to get their agency off the ground. Invited to the wedding of their friend the Maharaja (Adeel Akhtar) on his private island, the two heroes are then immersed in a new action-packed adventure when the groom finds himself kidnapped for ransom, leaving all the guests suspicious. It’s a high-stakes affair for the duo: with the help of a team of professional detectives, Audrey and Nick track the kidnappers to Paris to find their friend before it’s too late.

Directed by Jeremy Garelick from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, the film is co-produced by the two lead actors using their respective banners, Happy Madison Productions and Echo Films. The cast also includes Mark Strong, Jodie Turner-Smith, John Kani, Kuhoo Verma, Enrique Arce and the French Mélanie Laurent and Dany Boon.

In interview at People in June 2022, Jennifer Aniston said shooting the film in Paris was a challenge for her, as the city was geographically “very close” to the war in Ukraine. “But I reminded myself that this is what people need. People want to laugh. People need comedies. People like not to think for a minute, ”she said in the columns of the newspaper.

Murder Mystery 2 will be available on Netflix from March 31.
