Jennifer Lopez received the Icon Award and Ben Affleck did not hide his pride in his speech

At 52 years old Jennifer Lopez continues to win distinctions and on Tuesday received the Icon Award during the delivery of iHeartRadio Music Awardsin Los Angeles, where she recited several of her greatest hits while her boyfriend watched Ben Affleck.

“I appreciate this very, very, very much,” the honored artist said. “I wish I could tell you that awards are the most important thing to me, but that’s not true. And don’t think I don’t appreciate shiny, sparkly things, because I do!”

“I can’t lie, everyone knows I appreciate it. But that’s not why I’m doing this,” she added. “It’s not what matters most to me. I really do it for you.”

You are the ones who give me the opportunity, every day, to live a life that I couldn’t even imagine would come true when I was a little girl growing up in the Bronx.”

In her speech, the actress also gave an acronym for the word icon, in English, which she said meant “I can overcome negativity.”

“Let me tell you something else,” he closed. “I’m just starting”.


And after his speech JLo received a very particular presentation from billy porterwho announced it by shouting: “The word for tonight is ‘icon, legendary, captivating, spectacular,'” before starting a parade of a group of drag stars with the most memorable dresses of the artist, including the famous green dress of versace and his last look at the halftime show of the Super bowl.

Lopez immediately appeared on stage in a long white faux fur coat from Adrienne Landau, who said “equality” to start his show interpreting On My Way, taking off his jacket to sing Get Right and get the audience to dance along with her.
