Johnny Depp records album with Jeff Beck

Now the two are releasing an album together. It’s called “18” and will be available from July 15, the musician announced on Instagram. According to Warner Music, it will be released digitally and on CD first, with a vinyl version to follow in the fall.

The album’s first single, “This is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr,” is available now. The tribute to the actress is “one of the reasons why I asked him if he wanted to do an album with me,” said Jeff Beck about working with Johnny Depp.

Further joint performances are also planned. The actor accompanies the guitarist on his European tour as a special guest. As Warner Music confirms, Depp will also be present at two shows in Germany. The two will appear on July 6th in Frankfurt/Offenbach in the Stadthalle and on July 13th at the Tollwood Festival in Munich.

Jeff Beck is considered one of the best guitarists in the world. He made his name with The Yardbirds in the 1960s before falling out with the band. With his first solo album “Truth” from 1968 he became a guitar legend. Later he worked in different formations – among others with Mick Jagger, Roger Waters, Brian May, Paul Rodgers and Stevie Wonder.

According to his own statements, Johnny Depp has been musically active since his youth and originally wanted to be a rock star. He has therefore already worked with musicians such as Paul McCartney, Slash, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
