Juan José Origel, former host of Hoy announces his retirement

One of the drivers of show programs with greater recognition and trajectory in Mexico, without a doubt is Juan José Origel, also known as gherkinwho has now announced that he will soon say goodbye to television screens.

The communicator revealed this decision in an interview with TV Notas magazine. He assured that he has thought about retiring and that this will be final, so he will stop appearing on Mexican television media.

“That’s right, I’ve already decided that 2022 is my last year in the media and it will not be a half-retirement, but a full one,” Origel said.

According to the driver, this is the best time to leave the world of television because he still has a good physical image, that is, “Pepillo” does not want to look old or elderly on the screens, although he made it clear that he left disappointed.

“The media is not like before, now there is a lot of hypocrisy in the environment and I got fed up with it. Now there is no longer friendship, there is no love, people have changed a lot. Before they said that I was the friend of the stars, but if I now speak to 10, it is a lot, ”she declared.

According to Juan José Origel, until now he has given everything necessary to his career, so this 2022 seeks to give his life a new direction:

“In a few months it will be the final goodbye and I don’t want to hear anything again, nor, even if they make me a good job offer, I would change my mind, it’s time to say: ‘So far!’”.

Origel himself assured that it will be very difficult for another man who is dedicated to talking about show business to take his place, once he is gone.

“No one can take my place, take yours, mine stays, like that empty chair, it stays that way. I am satisfied with my work and with having placed myself where I was, I am very grateful to the public who showed me their love. I can say: ‘Mission accomplished,’” he concluded.

John Joseph Origin Born in León, Guanajuato, he began his career as a show commentator in 1996, on the program ‘windowing‘, next to Patricia Chapoy; years later he was the owner of spaces such as ‘The Botana’ and ‘The Ear’. His last works were in ‘Intruders’ and ‘With Permission’.
