The jungle camp is finally taking place in Australia again. Due to the corona, RTL did not broadcast “I’m a star – get me out of here” at all in 2020 and only in a slimmed-down format variant in South Africa in 2021. In 2023, the broadcaster initially sent twelve celebrities as candidates to the jungle camp. The list of participants was officially presented in December.
Voting: Who has to go to the jungle test?
In the first week of the jungle camp, the viewers chose via telephone and SMS voting which celebrities had to take the disgust tests. Only in week two do the viewers decide whether to vote out and thus end the show. The candidates then choose the most suitable participant for the task with the moderators Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen.
If the call “I’m a star – get me out of here” rings out through the Australian bush, a celebrity gives up voluntarily. There have been several such departures in recent seasons. Also in 2023? No! One thing is clear: if you decide to leave the jungle camp yourself, you have to forego a large part of your fee. Ex-jungle camper Julian FM Stoeckel has estimated the salaries of celebrities and knows the top earners in 2023.
