Kate Moss named new artistic director of Diet Coke

The British model succeeds Marc Jacobs, who held the position for the brand’s 30th anniversary in 2013.

Model Kate Moss has been named artistic director of Diet Coke. She will notably work on a collection, advertising campaigns and events around the 40th anniversary of the brand.

Michael Willeke, European Marketing Director of The Coca-Cola Company, said the company was “honored to appoint Kate Moss as its new Chief Creative Officer, continuing Diet Coke’s rich history of collaboration. with some of the biggest names in fashion and culture.” Kate Moss said she was “delighted to join the Diet Coke family”, as stated The Guardian.

She succeeds Marc Jacobs

Kate Moss takes over the position – vacant for 10 years – previously occupied by her close friend Marc Jacobs in 2013. For the 30th anniversary of the brand, the American designer had designed a limited series of bottles and cans, following in the footsteps of the giants of fashion Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier, Jonathan Anderson, Matthew Williams and Roberto Cavalli.

As a first project, Kate Moss unveiled the “Love What You Love” campaign in which the model stages herself.

“The campaign touched me immediately, because I strongly believe that with confidence and passion, you can achieve your wildest dreams,” added Kate Moss.
