Kendrick Lamar Makes a Comeback in Awesome ‘The Heart Part 5’ Clip Where He Transforms into Will Smith, Kobe Bryant and Kanye West

Over 5 million views in less than 10 hours. Just a week before the release of his new album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, Kendrick Lamar has unveiled a first single on video. Entitled “The Heart Part 5”, the song continues the series “The Heart” initiated in 2010. From a sample of the title “I Want You” by Marvin Gaye released in 1976, the clip features Kendrick Lamar on a red background , changing identity over the music.

The rapper begins with a message for his fans: “As I get a little older, I realize that life is a perspective and my perspective may differ from yours. I want to say thank you to everyone who followed me. All my fans, all my beautiful fans, everyone who ever taught me a lesson. All my people.” As with Kanye West’s video released on Mother’s Day in the United States on May 8, Kendrick Lamar’s clip uses the deepfake system, allowing any face to be associated with someone, and very realistically. Thus, Kendrick Lamar changes his face by repeating “I am. All of Us”, or “I am all of us” in French. The artist takes the appearance of Kanye West, OJ Simpson, Will Smith, Jussie Smollet, without forgetting Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle. The video was deleted for a few hours on Monday, May 9, causing an earthquake on social networks. It was finally published again in the last few minutes.

The rapper’s next album titled Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers is due out May 13.
