Kim Kardashian lost 7 kilos to put on the iconic dress that Marlyn Monroe wore to sing to Kennedy

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York rolled out its most glamorous red carpet this Sunday, May 2, to celebrate the 2022 Met Gala.

Each edition has its own theme, and this year’s edition paid homage to American fashion through its theme: ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’. In this sense, and to represent the golden glamor of bygone agesKim Kardashian (October 21, 1980, Los Angeles) literally dressed as Marilyn Monroe. The businesswoman and influencer captured much of the limelight with the design worn by the iconic actress when she sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to John F. Kennedy in 1962.

However, to wear the so-called ‘scandal dress’, the Kardashian had to lose seven kilos in three weeks. “I put on a sauna suit twice a day, ran on the treadmill, completely cut out sugar and carbs, and only ate the cleanest veggies and protein,” Kim confessed to Vogue magazine.

A dress that is not only an icon for the moment Marilyn wore it. It also holds the record for being the most expensive dress sold at auction, for nearly $4.8 million. A true museum piece that Kim only wore while walking the red carpet, and later changed for a replica to keep one of the most historic dresses in American fashion in perfect condition, as required by the ‘dress code’ of the gala. Kim fulfilled it to the letter making the legend of this design even bigger.
