the konga It is the group of the moment. His themes are all the rage on the platforms and on YouTube. They took the quartet to every corner of Argentina. And even Lionel Messi chose them to animate his party in an exclusive hotel in Rosario along with several teammates from the National Team, to celebrate having won the World Cup in Qatar.
Pablo Tamagnini, Diego Granadé and Nelson Aguirre come from living a dream 2022. With his band the konga They fulfilled many of the dreams for which they have been fighting for almost 20 years.
At their highest level of popularity, last year they managed to fill ten Gran Rex theaters in June and three Movistar Arena stadiums in December. Also, the konga won two Gardel Awards: Best Quartet Group Album for Universo Paralelo (2021) and Best Quartet Song for Universo Paralelo with Nahuel Pennisi. And they prepare for March 18, 2023, a mega-show at the Vélez Sarsfield stadium.

Without a doubt, the konga is a musical ensemble that managed to cross borders and reach all kinds of audiences. That is why, while they plan their tour of Latin America and their landing in Europe for the month of June, they already have their summer schedule full of commitments.

The kickoff of that schedule began Tuesday night at the Luxor Theater, where they made their sold-out double feature debut.
In the room with the largest capacity in Villa Carlos Paz -1,200 seats- they displayed their extensive repertoire that made the audience dance, which gave them a standing ovation throughout the night. Among the spectators there were several celebrities: Federico Bal, Matías Alé and Anibal Pachano were some of them.
Prior to their presentation, they took stock of 2022, the year of greatest growth for the band from Villa Dolores. “Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable year. So many beautiful things happened to us that we don’t know which one to keep. Each of the experiences was spectacular. And crowning him with Lionel Messi was the best”, they pointed out in dialogue with the press.

Pablo Tamagnini took the opportunity to show the tattoo that was made with the soccer star’s signature as soon as he arrived that night from Rosario to Córdoba. “I told the tattoo artist to do it now because he had Messi’s signature on his arm made with a fiber. It was really amazing to meet him. We brought our music to the party and singing to the boys and that they could dance to our music was very important to us”.
One of the characteristics that occurred in his shows and with his musical themes, is that several artists joined to collaborate with the konga in 2022. Such was the case of Sergio Dalma with “Yo no te pido la luna”, Nahuel Pennisi with “Universo Paralelo” or Rusherking with “Olvídate (Remix)”. They also worked with Alejandro Lerner and were invited by Nicky Nicole to participate with her in the Peñas festival in Villa María.
But when it comes to analyzing which other singers they don’t like to mention names, although they admit that they would like to work with Abel Pintos or Luciano Pereyra. “Whoever wants and is encouraged to do our genre, which is very cool, we will wait for him in our studio to do the best,” they said, issuing the invitation to anyone who wants to join the rhythm of the quartet.

For what remains from now on, they assure: “We continue dreaming and composing music. We believe that it will be a 2023 with many collaborations with artists from other genres. Let’s see what happens. We are waiting with open arms to welcome more artists.”
For them, everyone they were able to work with last year marked the band in one way or another. “All the songs are made with a lot of love. We put the best of each song and we try to make our guests feel at home. This is how beautiful songs come out”, they admit as a formula with which they have obtained such popular songs.
If someone had told the members of the konga that 2022 that awaited them, they could hardly have imagined. “In our case we are always dreaming of growing and things are happening little by little. And we are enjoying each of those steps as we project ourselves and continue to grow”.

What is that magic that makes the public have chosen them? It’s hard to say. “This is a band that is already almost 20 years old. It took us a lot of sacrifices, a lot of work to create the songs. Perhaps that break that brought us closer to the people was the pandemic itself. It was a very difficult time for everyone, but many songs that are successful today were born from there. I think we kept the people who were locked up at home a nice company. And these same people are the ones who join us at the shows today and make us endure with good energy. On the other hand, we are a band that is very united, the three of us get along very well and we are a team that has a lot of people behind us working together”, they say.
In addition to his shows at Carlos Paz, the konga It has already been confirmed in almost all the emblematic festivals of the province of Córdoba, starting with the Dressage and Folklore festival in Jesús María that begins this Friday, January 6.
Meanwhile, the band will continue performing every Tuesday in January with a double feature at 11:45 p.m. and 02:00 a.m. and on Tuesday, February 7 and Tuesday, February 14 at the same time at the Luxor Theater in Villa Carlos Paz.
