Let’s celebrate the 60th anniversary of Los Hermanos Flores!

For decades, the darling international orchestra of Salvadorans has remained a favorite with the public. Their songs will sound this Thursday, December 29 at Pura Candela

To speak of the International Orchestra of Los Hermanos Flores is to go back to decades of musical successes, to national and international tours, to the history of a family that became a group, but not just any group, but the favorite of all Salvadorans.

Different generations have danced to the orchestra’s hits, but until recently many were unaware of its beginnings, vicissitudes, sadness and triumphs; This year everyone embraced those details in the miniseries “El Salvador: 60 years of history with the Flores Brothers.”

In a previous interview with El Diario de Hoy, Nono Flores talked about the preparations they had for the celebration of this anniversary.

“1960 marks the beginning of our orchestra’s journey and today in 2020 we celebrate 60 years of foundation. This new production becomes the preamble to the commemorative album of this fabulous idea (group) of our beloved parents Andrés and Fidelina Flores de Rodríguez”.

What both the family and the musicians did not count on was the delay that occurred after the pandemic. “The year 2020 was a very significant date for the orchestra in its lifetime (…) the celebration plans had to be canceled and moved to 2022,” Los Flores said in a press release.

At the beginning of these six decades, everything began as a family business, no one would imagine what this orchestra would become that has faced ups and downs. But in recent years she has managed to remain active and led by the iconic singer Nory Flores.
